Firearm Instruction

The Firearms Instruction and Qualifications course is an extensive   period of instruction which provides the students with knowledge of the fundamentals of pistol and shotgun marksmanship. The course concentrates on the characteristic, nomenclature, and functioning of the M9 pistol and M1014 shotgun. Included in this course are instruction for firearms safety; malfunctions, stoppages and remedial action;  fundamentals of marksmanship; and loading, unloading and reloading the weapons. Lowlight and darkness techniques are also covered during this course. The course is taught through lecture, demonstration, dry fire practice and live fire range drills.
