Powers of entry and search must be fully justified before use and officers should always consider whether their objectives could be met by other less obtrusive means. Authority to Search Training will examine the process of when to search and the search process all the way through to the arrest. Topics include identifying and  questioning a suspect and when to conduct a search. This course also covers the different types of searches, when the searches can be performed, and who is authorized to perform the search.
