Correctional officers must know how to handle the weapons they are issued and that are at their disposal in case of an emergency. This course will teach officers how to hold, shoulder, carry, load, unload and fire each of the standard-issued weapons.  Firing techniques and different weapons tactics will be taught to officers. This course will certify officers with the safe use of a revolver, rifle, shotgun, baton, and other weapons Officers will also learn weapons procedures based on the situation they face.
